Jeanne C.  Irwin (Collins)
Irwin, Jeanne (Collins) of Plymouth, formerly of Medford, passed away following a brief illness on January 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. The beloved wife of 51 years to the late Honorable John J. Irwin. She is survived by her children Ann Marie Callahan and her husband Brian of Medford, Jack Irwin and his wife Anne of Abington, Susan Irwin of Quincy, Christine Costa and her husband Eddie of Plymouth, and the late Richard Irwin. Devoted Grandmother of Brenna, Kiley, Kathleen, Grace, Caroline, Delaney, Joelle, Damian, Andrew and Samantha. Sister of Lawrence Collins of Illinois, and the late Richard Collins and Martha Collins. Also survived by in-laws Auxiliary Bishop Francis X. Irwin, Eugene Irwin and Margaret Callahan. Jeanne was a 1951 graduate of UMASS Amherst and went on to teach public school in Medford. Jeanne enjoyed traveling with her husband and they spent many summers enjoying their beloved home on Cape Cod. Family and friends will honor and remember Jeanne’s life by gathering for calling hours at The Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, Arlington on Tuesday February 3nd from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Raphael’s Church in Medford on Wednesday February 4th at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Jeanne’s family asks that donations be made in her name to the Barton Center for Diabetes Education at 30 Ennis Rd., PO Box 356 North Oxford, MA 01537-0356.
