Obituary for Doris Valente

VALENTE, Doris A. of Hingham, formerly of Cambridge passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016. Beloved sister of the late Frederick and Robert Valente. Loving aunt of Melissa Valente of Scituate, Robert Valente of CA, and David Valente of Cohasset. Cousin of Julie Megan and Joyce Mickle both of Randolph. Dear friend of Ty Vignone of Cambridge and Marie Morello of Watertown. Doris was a longtime Cambridge resident and a longtime Cambridge School teacher. She taught at the Martin Luther King Jr. School, formerly the Houghton School. Graduate of Emmanuel College and Boston University where she received her Masters Degree. She had a passion for traveling and singing. She was a longtime member of Sweet Adeline’s, where they traveled and performed all around New England. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave, North Cambridge, on Friday at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church at 11 am. Visitation from 9:30-10:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Donations may be made to Children’s Hospital, Boston or to Make a Wish Foundation.
