Obituary for Mary "Molly" Lynch

LYNCH, Mary “Molly” on May 12, 2017 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. Beloved sister of James A. Lynch of Marshfield, Sr. Margaret Lynch of Worcester, and the late Donal, Finn, and Sean Lynch of Castleisland, County Kerry Ireland. Molly is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews. In 1954, at the age of 34, she left her home in County Kerry, Ireland and moved to Boston where she worked at Jordan Marsh and got her GED in 1956. In 1964 Molly received her BS from Boston College. She worked for John Hancock Insurance Company from 1957 until she retired in 1986. Molly would return to Ireland every summer to visit family. She was an avid traveler. In September, 2000 she visited Obermmergau in the Bavarian Alps, Germany to see the once a decade performance of the Passion Play. She also visited Medjugorje in Bosnia-Heregovina and climbed the steep rocky path up Apparation Mountain. For many years after retirement, Molly volunteered to help seniors with their taxes and has received numerous certificates of appreciation from the Commonwealth of MA, and the Internal Revenue Service and the American Assoc. of Retired Persons for her dedicated service. Molly was a treasure and will be dearly missed. Her funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11 am, at the chapel in Saint Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held prior to the mass from 10 to 11 am. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
