Sister M. Julie Urban (Anita Rose) was born in Medford, MA in 1927 and died peacefully on August 1, 2017 at Sancta Maria Nursing Care Facility in Cambridge, where she was skillfully and lovingly cared for. Sister Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Julia (Frati) and John Philip Urban and by her siblings: Anna Coleman (her twin), Elizabeth Picard, Irene Loper and John Urban. She is survived by many devoted nieces and nephews. Sister Julie entered the Medical Missionaries of Mary in 1951. After initial formation, her assignments included Ireland, Nigeria and USA where she faithfully and tirelessly fulfilled her commitments to service as a Medical Missionary of Mary. Visitation will be at the Jeanne Jugan Residence, Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, on Friday at 9:30 until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. Sister Julie was one of the first American Medical Missionaries of Mary and will be greatly missed by her MMM community and all who loved her. Her ability to reach out, share her gifts and nurture loving relationships will never be forgotten.
