Charlotte Ann Nason, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Arlington surrounded by family on October 20th. Charlotte was born in Boston in 1926 and was the second daughter of Herman and Jessie Collyer. She was raised in North Weymouth, MA and resided in Arlington for many years. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 65 years – Walter C. Nason, Jr.
Charlotte is survived by her sister, Velma Louise Collyer, and her four children: Steven Nason and his partner Paul Glover; Susan Nason Gervais and her husband Marc; Sandra Nason Lapointe and her husband James; and Scott Nason and his wife Annie. Charlotte was blessed by her eight grandchildren: Michelle, Matthew and Michael Lapointe, Sara and Stephanie Gervais, and Andrew, Jessie and Emily Nason. She also leaves her brother-in-law Robert Whittier, niece Jenny Whittier, nephews John and James Whittier, and many great nieces and nephews.
Charlotte adored her husband, family, church, travel, the beach and time with people. She and Walter raised a tight knit loving family. She graduated from Weymouth High School and Fisher College in Boston.
Walter and Charlotte began their married life in 1950 in Dayton, Ohio where Charlotte worked for a bank and shortly thereafter moved to Wollaston, MA and then to Arlington in 1956 where they raised their family and lived in retirement. Charlotte enjoyed engaging with the Tower Mother’s Club of Arlington and the Christian Women’s Club.
Walter and Charlotte attended church through the years at Park Avenue Congregational Church in Arlington and Park Street Church in Boston. Over the past few years, they have lived happily at Sunrise of Arlington Assisted Living. They and the family have greatly appreciated the support of their devoted caregivers at Sunrise, Seasons Hospice Care and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, Arlington on Tuesday October 24th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral service Wednesday October 25th, 10:00 am at Park Avenue Congregational Church, 50 Paul Revere Road, Arlington.
