Obituary for John F. Thibodeau

THIBODEAU, John F. Of Somerville, November 27, 2017. Beloved son of the late Charles F. Thibodeau and Ethel (Raphael). Loving and adored father of Doreen E. Bentubo and her husband Paul of Wakefield. Proud Papa of Paul Jr. and Jacqueline Bentubo. Brother to Charles Thibodeau and his wife Candace of Wellfleet and the late Meredith Lynch. Uncle to Denis P. Lynch and his wife Susan of Reading, Karen Koski and her husband Paul of Florida, Deborah Galanty and her husband David of Boston and Jessup Thibodeau and his wife Sherry of California. Great Uncle to Kimberli, Cory, Kaley, Ethan, Casey and Quynn. Best friend to Mary Walsh of Somerville.

John “Jack” Thibodeau was also known as "Johnny Friendly … a friend to the man who has none.” His sense of humor, kindness, and generosity forever shone through his tough-guy exterior. He loved his friends and family fiercely and was happiest when he was in the company of his beloved grandchildren, Jackie and Paul Jr. Jack was born and raised in Cambridge and was a lifetime member of the Association of Notre Dame. He worked at Payne Elevator, for Schlitz as a truck driver, and as the owner and operator of two Yellow Cabs. Jack's favorite pastime was to spend time at the racetrack and French Club, and he was always eager to treat friends and family to dinner at his favorite restaurant. He was the type of person who always helped those less fortunate. Throughout his life, he loved many children as though they were his own. Jack was a strong man who faced the challenges of leukemia like a champ, never complaining, always grateful to spend time with those he loved.
