Obituary for William James Huntenburg

William James Huntenburg, husband of Carolyn Curtis Huntenburg, son of Herman and Florence (Mercier) Huntenburg passed away unexpectedly on January 13th in Boston, MA. Bill was the eldest of six, Michael, Susan, Mark, James and Laura (Ripoli). Bill and Carolyn were married in 1976. Bill was an animal lover, scientist, computer geek, and fitness enthusiast. His greatest loves were wife, Carolyn and his cats, ...perhaps in that order.

Bill had a unique relationship to animals from the time he was young. He befriended snakes, tadpoles, ground squirrels, mice, Venus fly traps (ok maybe not an animal, but a carnivore), gerbils, birds, dogs, cats. He understood them all and did not hesitate to give them the respect they deserved. His voice lacked volume to the human ear, but perhaps was better heard by animals. Bill always marched to the beat of a different drum, which provided a unique view and approach to many things. Services will be private. Donations may be in Bill’s memory to Gifford Animal Shelter giffordcatshelter.org

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
