Obituary for Theresa F. Pessotti (Melanson)

Theresa (Melanson) Pessotti passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018. Surrounded by her family and the "Little Sisters of the Poor" at the Jean Jugan Home in Somerville. Theresa was one of nine children born to Frank and Regina Melanson of Cape Pele', New Brunswick Canada on June 28, 1925. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew Pessotti. She is survived by her four daughters, Maureen Marchetti of Hyannis, Gayle and her husband larry Hurley of Stoneham, Eileen Morrissey of Beverly, and Theresa Crotty of Belmont. Also her six grandchildren, Larry and Missy Hurley of Reading, Ed Hurley of NH, Andrew Morrissey of LV and Kristen Morrissey of Wakefield, Tarsha and Steve Benevento of Burlington and Michael Crotty II and his wife Demetra of Wellesley. Great grandmother of six, Abby, Kate, Taylor Rose, Stephen, Joseph, and Michael Crotty III. Theresa's family would like to thank all the "Little Sisters of the Poor" who loved and cared for our mother for three years and to all the staff at Jean Jugan Residence. A memorial mass will be held in the chapel at Little Sister's of the Poor on Monday at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held prior to the mass from 10 to 11 am at Little Sister's of the Poor. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Little Sister's of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143.
