Condolence From: Jeanne Hansen
Condolence: Dear Doherty and Mansfield Families, It was heartbreaking to hear of Patrick's illness and deeply saddening to hear of is untimely passing. Cathy had shared that the Dohertys went out to California for Christmas as your gift to one another and an opportunity to share time with Patrick. What a beautiful sign of the spirit and love within the family. Now more than ever you will need to be there for one another to walk through this deep loss. I had a medical commitment on Friday that made it impossible for me to get to the wake, but undoubtedly it must have been a large crowd of caring families and friends. Hope to get to the funeral in the morning, but it is unlikely that I will get to see you. Know the prayers I was saying for all of you will continue. Patrick will be held in the hearts of many. He will be remembered for his spirit, courage, Love of family and joy of life. We are holding you closely. Our deepest condolences, Jeanne & Harvey Hansen

Condolence From: Sarah Andreozzi
Condolence: To the brave Doherty family & sweet Kathleen, I had the honor to work with Pat at Commonwealth for a couple years before he left for CA. He was a spitfire and an engaging and enthusiastic employee, but most memorable was that he was a doll of a brother. I hired Kathleen for our internship program and I can remember countless times that Pat would be checking on Kathleen, making sure she had lunch, had a ride, was able to use the systems...One time I even told him "Pat, she is good! Let her spread her wings"...we had a good laugh and Kathleen, while possibly ready for her brother to stop overseeing her internship, was so grateful for that relationship and it was evident. My heart breaks for your loss of your son and the void that I am sure Kathleen will feel, but I know for sure that he is looking down on you and watching out for you just like he did at Commonwealth. All my love and positive thoughts. - Sarah

Condolence: Although we never had an opportunity to meet Patrick, we were blessed to have met Dan, Mary and their daughters several years ago when we traveled to Boston for medical treatment for our daughter. We are truly saddened for your loss and send much love and prayers to your family. Fly high Patrick, as we are sure your are an angel in heaven watching over your loved ones. Love, the Martin family. Condolence: Dan and Mary, We are heartbroken to hear about Patrick. We can't imagine your feelings but can only begin to surmise how it must be with such a tragedy. Why this happens to wonderful people and their families is beyond our belief. We will somehow get up there for the wake or funeral. We have a house full of guests, but we will make it to offer our support. Please know our prayers and thoughts are with you and the girls. Love, Dave & Cheryl Villandry

Condolence From: Sissy
Condolence: My heart goes out to The Doherty family on your precious loss. May you find some comfort in the Most High God’s written word. He promises to fulfill all that He has said (Titus 1:2). No more sickness(Isaiah 33:24). No more death (Isaiah 25:8). Seeing our loved ones again ( John5:28, 29) and he says where at Psalms 37:11 and how long Psalms 37:29). Later when you feel up to it, to read these few Scriptures of Comfort. They helped me when our daughter fell asleep in death. And, recently my husband fell asleep in death. And, I hope these Promises from God will be of some comfort to you as well. Especially, when One reflects on the way Jesus viewed death at John 11:11-14. Yes, God’s son Jesus viewed death as one Sleeping.

Condolence From: Larry Cronin
Condolence: Patrick. A name not given in Ireland before the 1600s because it was considered too sacred for everyday use (St. Patrick). Taken from the Latin name Patricius meaning "nobleman". Truly Pat Doherty was that noble man. Hearing the stories from his family, it is apparent that Pat endured his battle with courage, humor and dignity. With his given name, and his lineage from the Doherty and Mansfield families, Pat was destined to be a firecracker. I first met him at a hockey rink (where else!)where his dad and I coached the infamous "Blackhawks". Pat was 6 or 7 years old, had a high squeeky voice, and a mischievious glean in his eye (another "Patrick" quality!). But boy could he fly! He was everywhere on the ice. We designated him to be our "junkyard dog", and had him chase everything in sight, a role in which he flourished. Pat moved on to be terrific athlete in two sports, and kept that enthusiasm thoughout his life. Our hearts go out to the Doherty and Mansfield families. We will all miss Patrick Doherty, noble man.

Condolence From: Paula O'Shaughnessy
Condolence: To the Doherty Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I was introduced to Pat by his Uncle Matt and Aunt Gwen. He had just finished college and was looking for work. The second I met him, I knew we had to hire him at Commonwealth Financial. He and I soon discovered that not only did we have his uncle and aunt in common, but his cousin Luke was friends with my son Keegan, he played hockey with my nephew Patrick Keegan, and his dad worked with my brother-in-law Mike O'Shaughnessy. From that point forward, "we were family". Every time I ran into him in the halls he had that smile. He was a dotting brother to his younger sister, Kathleen, who interned here for 2 summers. He is remembered well by many here at Commonwealth. I will miss his beautiful soul and he'll hold a special part in my heart always. With deepest sympathy, pko
