William P. (Bill) Kirchner, III, age 56, of South Boston and formerly of Arlington passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 6th, 2018. Beloved eldest son of William and Rita Kirchner of Arlington. Cherished brother of Theresa Miller and her husband Philip of Sudbury, John Kirchner and his wife Linda of Arlington, James Kirchner and his wife Lisa of Middleton and Steven Kirchner and his fiancee Joni Mullen of Somerville. Loving uncle to Joseph, Julie and Justin Miller and Jessica, Erin, Laura, Danny, James, Kate, Ryan, and Liam Kirchner. Proud godfather of Laura Kirchner and nephew of Alice Kirchner of Arlington. Beloved longtime companion of Kerry Lynch and her children Keryn Hayes and Chance Deyesso.

Bill was raised in Arlington and was a 1980 graduate of Arlington Catholic High School. He also attended Salem State College. Bill worked for the US Postal Service for 32 years (South Postal Annex) and recently retired and was looking forward to the next chapter in his life. Bill had a contagious laugh and was a loyal and good hearted person who will be missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington on Tuesday from 5-8 pm. Followed by a memorial service on Wednesday in the funeral home at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited.
