Mary (Perrone) Accetta of Needham (formerly of Arlington & Somerville), September 4, 2018, age 102. Beloved wife of late Louis V. Accetta. Beloved Mother of Louis A. Accetta & wife Patricia of Needham, Anna Accetta of Milford, CT, and Frances Casey and her husband John of PA. Grandmother of Scott Accetta and wife Emily, Christopher Accetta and wife Christina, Susan Lowry and husband Cody, and Christopher Casey of NH, Great Grandmother of Casey and Emerson Lowry.

Mary was proud of her Italian Heritage and travelled here from Gaeta, Italy where she landed at Ellis Island in 1937 on an Italian Ocean Liner. Mary and her family then traveled to Somerville, Mass to join family & friends residing in the area. Mary married her dearly loved husband Louie in 1947 and raised her three children in her Family home at Washington Terrace, Somerville. As a widow, she moved to Arlington to live near her sister Theresa where she resided until she moved to Needham at Briarwood Healthcare in May, 2017 to be nearer to her son & his wife.

Mary's pride and joy was her family. She loved to host big family dinners at her home in Somerville and enjoyed many huge family outings in Gloucester, Marshfield and Cape Cod over the years and traveling to Italy three times. She was the family Matriach and everyone respected and loved "Auntie Mary." She loved her Bingo games played several times weekly and her Pokeno games especially while gathered with family around the holiday table.

For her 100th birthday, she enjoyed a party fit for a queen and many relatives from far and near came to celebrate the life of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Godmother.

Funeral from Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., ARLINGTON, Thursday at 11 AM followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 51 Medford St., Arlington at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with her family from 9-11 AM at the funeral home. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to My Brother's Keeper, Inc., P.O. Box 338, North Easton, MA 02356-0338 or http://www.mybrotherskeeper.org/.
