Obituary for Mary J. "Maureen" Coyne (Fitzmaurice)
COYNE, Mary ‘Maureen’ J. (Fitzmaurice), of Arlington, at the age of 82. Passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 1, 2018, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Beloved wife of the late Mickey Coyne. Loving mother of Michael W. Coyne of Arlington, Fiona McKenna and her husband Mark of Billerica, and Thomas Coyne and his wife Sarah of Burlington. Cherished grandmother of Cayla and Chad McKenna, and Leah and Dillon Coyne. She was born in Ballygar, Co. Galway, Ireland to the late Thomas Fitzmaurice and Agnes (Cunningham).
Mary was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her four grandchildren. She was the best ‘Nana’ they could have asked for. Throughout the years you would frequently se her attending her children’s sporting events and watching and enjoying seeing her son Tom coach basketball. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and knitting where she made plenty of blankets and scarves for her family. As her daughter got older, she enjoyed teaching her how to cook by sharing her secret recipes.
She is also survived by her loving brother Thomas Fitzmaurice of Ireland, brother in law of Christopher Coyne and his wife Josephine of Ireland, brother in law Michael McGovern and sister in law to Margaret Fitzmaurice, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by Seamus Fitzmaurice, Bridie Harkins, Teresa Canning, and sister in law Philomena “Baby” McGovern.
Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., ARLINGTON on Friday at 10:30am. Funeral Mass in St. Agnes Church at 11:30am. Relatives and friends invited, visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm.
