Kathleen "EE"  Powell
POWELL, Kathleen “EE”, 66, of Arlington, March 9, 2018. Born in New Haven, CT. Kathy was the 3rd daughter of the late Robert M. and Loretta F. Powell. She is survived by her beloved daughter Olivia Powell-Phillips of Arlington, to whom she was a devoted and wonderful mother, and Olivia’s father Robert L. Phillips III of Lowell. Also survived by her adoring, darling sisters Mary-Ellen of Hartford, CT; Nancy and husband Phil Blaisdell of Marblehead; and Margaret (Peggy) and husband Peter Thorlichen of Arlington. Also survived by niece Elizabeth P. Fraser and her children Liam, Owen, and Sloane Wells of Walla Walla, WA; nephews Sam Powell of Newton, Peter Neudel of Cambridge, Ted Burt of Brooklyn and Rory and Miles Powell of Austin, TX. Kathy was a dedicated grants administrator at the Lawrence Public Schools, where she worked for over 30 years. She possessed a heart of gold. Emblematic of this trait, Kathy elected to donate her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at UMass Medical School for use in training students. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 17th from 2-4pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., ARLINGTON. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen’s honor may be made to the Mass Audubon Society, Fund for Nature, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773.
